Why Love Yourself First?
Loving one’s self is a reflection of a healthy self-esteem. If we do not accept and love who we are, with all our faults and weaknesses, then we are not really capable of truly loving other people. Science has evidence that the feeling of unworthiness and self-hatred can negatively affect any relationship. Thus, negative feelings about yourself will ultimately affect how you deal with other people. That is why you need to be true to yourself and and be confident on who you really are. Moreover, any healthy relationship should be based on mutual trust. Consequently, hiding your true self from the very start will eventually tear that relationship apart.
How to Love Yourself?
Loving yourself is like treating yourself with respect. Think of people whom you love and respect. How do you treat them? Basically, you need to treat yourself the same way you treat those people. Be kind and be nice. Be careful of what you say to yourself in your thoughts. Most of the time, we ourselves are the most critical to ourselves. Also, part of loving yourself is taking care of your body. Eat nutritious food. Get enough sleep. Drink lots of water. Exercise regularly.
It is a challenge to be kinder to yourself if you are used to putting yourself down for many years. Thus, the first step to loving yourself is by changing the way you think about yourself through affirmations.
What are Affirmations?
Affirmations are positive words or statements that you repeat to yourself over and over until you believe them to be true. They are designed to challenge your thought processes and remove all negative thoughts that you have about yourself such as fear, anger, frustration, pain and impatience.

Do it consecutively for 28 days until it becomes a habit.
