Dreams of A Better Future
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Do your dreams reflect that of a better future? Not just for you, for everyone around you; even for the world. The dreams that you vaguely recall upon waking up are not what we mean here. We mean the dreams that you have consciously; the ones that you created in your own magic shop, which you constantly visualize; those that you’ve listed on your bucket list. Your dreams can be a preview to your future. It all depends on how you will work to turn them into reality.

No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid.

– Lupita Nyong’O

We sometimes hesitate to craft new dreams or pursue our childhood dreams because of failures and the fear of failing again. Our negative experiences in the past has made us fearful. We may have felt guilty for disappointing our parent’s expectations, our bosses, our colleagues and friends, even complete strangers. The next time, we failed keeping a promise to an important person in our life; we disappointed someone. As negative experiences like this piled up; so did our fears of dreaming. This does not mean we should stop dreaming or pursuing our dreams. Let us be driven by our passion instead of our fears.

If you have a heartbeat, there’s still time for your dreams.

– Sean Stephenson

There is no correct time to start working on your dream or to give up on them. It is all up to you. What you dream about is all up to you. You can shape your future any way you want it to be. Each one of us is a creator with different skills. Unleash your own genius and continue working on your dreams. Take the risk and try something new. You will never know what you are capable of if you don’t try different things. It is usually through this journey that you stumble upon your life purpose. Remember that it is never too late to dream again or to pick up on your dreams. As long as you are alive; you can choose to move forward.

If your dreams don’t scare you they are too small.

– Richard Branson

Have you ever heard the advise to “dream big”? What does that actually mean? How do you know that your dreams are big enough? One of the ways to know if your dreams are big enough is if they scare you. It is scary to pursue them because they may seem impossible to achieve. You may feel foolish because you will be taking too big of a risk. You cannot control all the things that can help you succeed. However, you can prepare for them. Challenges are always part of the journey to success. All you need to do is to keep showing up to work on your dream, one small step at a time.

A single dream is more powerful than a thousand realities.

– J.R.R. Tolkien

Don’t be intimated by what others have already achieved. Just keep working on that one single dream that you truly want to come true. You never know how much it can change your life or how it will benefit other people in the long run. Stay focused and you will wake up one day with your dream already a reality. It may not put you in the history books but it will surely put you in the hearts of the people who got involved with you in the journey. Then, when you have achieved your dream; you can dream again – a bigger dream maybe. Keep on dreaming and working on your dreams.
